Sorry its been so long.... yeah im ashamed.. life moves pretty fast. junior year is almost over! and im freaking out!! so much is going to change!! especially the fact that i went to prom last night!! it really was a night i will remember for the rest of my life!! so much fun! i laughed sooo hard alot. and by the the end of the night i was drained!! Prom hangovers are real my friends!! real business. no jokes about it... but all worth it!!

Weeeeeenies! Utah county is Chuck Full of them!. ill just tell you a story that set me off today.

So today my grandma, grandpa, and great-grandma came up for Sunday dinner. And I feel bad but for most of the night i tried to avoid them for as long as possible because, bless her soul, but my great grandma every time we get together she always asks me one question that just makes me feel so stupid. and Im. Not. Kidding. EVERY time i see her. this question is asked. so it was dinnertime right? and i am sitting by great grandma and after we are done eating im just sitting there planning my escape route. and she turns and asks me the very question that turns a conversation awkward in .2 seconds.

"So Katie, a cute girl like you, dont you have a boyfriend yet?"

"uhhhhh... Haha (nervous laugh) nope. grandma. not yet

so by this time everyone has stopped eating and their all watching me.

"no grandma i don't"

"now your not lying to your grandma now are you??"

"no grandma i don't lie. i don't have a boyfriend. not even close"

"so your telling me that none of the boys up here have taken an interest to you, your so cute. i don't believe it"

in my head, i had Sooo many responses i wanted to say to this want to hear em?

-see grandma up here in superficial county, no one gives you the time of day unless you are a toothpick with big boobs, .skanks. all of them

and of course i couldn't say this because, lets face it. the womens 88 years old. that would just be rude

instead i just grunted and got up. everyone was just staring at me and watched me as i left.

because i cant stay in this weenie infested state any longer.

(there was also conversation about how i will have my junior prom this year) my grandpa was not excited about that.

3/4 of the people at Lone Peak High don't even go to Prom. why?

Now half of me is really ashamed of the fact that i let this effect me as much as it has. and that im making a whole blog post about it. but the fact here is... i know Im not the only one thinking this.... right?

However on the bright side! its CHRISTMAS TIME!

I could not be more happy! yesterday i watched the Grinch, and today im watching the Polar Express! cozy socks and the hotchocolate mugs have come out and they are staying for a while! i've already made a christmas list and started making/ buying presents! i love christmas time and everthing about it! the snow has fallen and the roads are icy and cold, the wind hits you in the face as you come out of your warm house in the morning. you might hate it. but i love it! its a small reminder that the happiest time of the year is here! people are happy! its the time of year for service and being with your loved ones. looking out for others and keeping others in your prayers. i know i wish that it was always like this where people were so giving and wanting to do more for others. but unfortonutaly thats not how it is. but im soaking up the season.... and so should you!

Last thought... my favorite person of all time... said this.. yes the good ole AudreyIsn't the temple just great?

Sarah surpised me and brought me my favorite person in the whole world. Jackie Aaron. she is my best friend. basically and she moved out to Eagle Mountain at the beginning of the summer. we had a reunion at the temple and took pictures. it was fabulous :)
